Polarizing beamsplitter cubes are easy-to-handle, high contrast and high extinction ratio polarizer that splits a randomly polarized beam into two orthogonal, linearly polarized components. Cement is used to bind the two prism halves that form the cube, so the laser damage threshold is limited.
